About

The Community Calendar is a space where information about days and observances that are important to our communities has been brought together. It is intended to be a resource for the whole community to help bring about understanding and acceptance.

When undertaking its development, we were conscious that it should cover different communities of identity in our borough, whether that is ethnicity, nationality, gender, age, disability, sexual orientation or any other facet of our identities.

We were also conscious that we don’t have all the knowledge. Whilst some dates and events should obviously be included, there are other observances that we have not included. Please tell us about them.

We have provided a mechanism through our ‘Suggest an Event’ form to give you a route to tell us about an event or observance that is important to you or your community. Anything submitted through this form will be considered for inclusion in the calendar.

There are somethings to bear in mind though;

  • Complete the form fully and explain the importance of the observance to you and your community.
  • We may not include all suggested events, it is at our discretion, and we will let you know the outcome.
  • We will not accept submissions that are offensive, or contrary to our values

The Council has lots of information about how to develop a community group and the support available to you and your group, visit our Community Support webpages

The calendar makes use of links and information on other sites, and whilst efforts are made to ensure their accuracy and validity, we cannot accept responsibility for the content of third party websites.

Future dates of observances can also change or move depending on how they are calculated or determined by organisers..

If you have any concerns about the calendar, or the information held within it please let us know, you can contact us at yourviewsmatter@telford.gov.uk
